One Dead in Wilcox County Single-Vehicle Crash

One person was killed in a Wilcox County single-vehicle crash early on the morning of Tuesday, September 28. The fatal incident took place on State Route 112, which is also known as Pineview Highway among the locals.

According to the details shared by the Georgia State Patrol, the sole vehicle involved in the wreck was traveling southbound along SR 112. The driver of the vehicle was traveling at a fairly high rate of speed. Just before the accident, the driver crossed the intersection of Pineview Highway and Will Mays Road.

Right after crossing the intersection, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle veered away from the roadway and left it before hitting a ditch. It finally came to a stop after turning over.

Two occupants were traveling in the car at the time of the accident. Both were ejected from the vehicle following the impact.

Paramedics and first responders rushed to the scene of the Wilcox County single-vehicle crash soon after it occurred. The driver was discovered on the scene with serious injuries. The passenger had suffered fatal injuries. Attempts to revive the passenger failed, and he was pronounced deceased on the accident scene. Authorities later identified him as Ardante Brandon Reid, 24.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The nature and severity of the driver’s injuries are not known at this time. GSP continues to investigate the crash. Further investigations may confirm whether speeding was the main factor that caused the crash.
